Court Regis receives new mini bus
March 7, 2012. Filed in: Care Home Court Regis.Court Regis receives new mini bus for residents to enjoy day trips out.
Emma Hodges and the team at Court Regis have been desperately saving hard for funds for a mini bus for the residents to enjoy day trips out on a regular basis.
‘Many events have taken place over the last year or so such as raffles, quizzes and tea parties to help increase the mini bus saving fund’, says Home Manager, Emma Hodges.
Clever thinking staff at Court Regis also spoke with the Sittingbourne Society regarding their fund raising for a mini bus which then lead to the Society offering a grant of £2000 being donated very kindly from the John George Jordan Bequest.
On the 7th March Joyce Fuller, Treasurer of the Sittingbourne Society presented staff and residents with a cheque for £2000 to go towards the mini bus for Court Regis.
Well done Court Regis for your excellent fund raising efforts.

Making dreams come true for one Court Regis Resident
November 18, 2011. Filed in: Uncategorized. On Wednesday 26th October Tracy Creasey and Ashley Roberts, staff from Court Regis Care home helped to make a dream come true for one resident.
They all went to see Sir Cliff Richard in concert at the 02.
The resident had spoken on many occasions of her dream to see Sir Cliff in concert and would often be heard throughout Court Regis humming or singing along to her favourite tunes. So when the concert was seen advertised Ashley decided a visit to see Sir Cliff was a must!
Ashley says; ‘We all had such a great evening and the positive emotional connection it has had on the resident during and after the concert is just incredible. The resident is living with a dementia that affects her memory yet since she has come back from the concert she has spoken about her concert trip on several occasions and is often seen showing her concert souvenir programme and exclusive Cliff Richard cushion to other residents and staff in the home. I myself am not one of the biggest Cliff Richard fans but I am so pleased that I went and was part of this great night out!’

£400 Raised for Pilgrims View Snooker Table
October 10, 2011. Filed in: Uncategorized.Daryl’s grandfather John Sutton is a resident at Pilgrims View and on regular visits to see John the conversation of snooker would always be a popular one between themselves and other residents, and from this, it lead to an idea of an actual snooker table being bought and set up in the home for all residents and families to enjoy.
Without further a do, Daryl decided he wanted to help with this great idea by raising the money himself.
Daryl said, ‘I thought long and hard about how I could raise the money for this great cause, and then it suddenly dawned on me, my beard! So many people commented on my beard and how it looked like a Brillo pad attached to my chin, so I thought if people want to see the beard go then they can give donations for me to shave it off!’
Daryl spent a lot of his spare time raising funds for the snooker table and with his excellent efforts Daryl handed over £400 to Jane Wiltshire, Home Manager at Pilgrims View, on the 30th September to buy a snooker table for the home.
Jane Wiltshire said: ‘We are all so grateful for Daryl’s excellent efforts of fund raising for the snooker table, it will be a wonderful addition to the home for the residents to enjoy and I am sure it will only be a matter of time before residents and staff will be setting up snooker tournaments!’
Avante Partnership would like to say a big thank you to Daryl!
